These Los Angeles natives came bursting onto the scene in late 2009 only to gather comparisons to indie favorites Fleet Foxes and Arcade Fire. However, it doesn't take one long to realize that Local Natives occupy a unique sound within the genre after hearing the blend of jittery drum beats, loose and jangled guitar riffs, driving bass lines all coupled with soaring three-part harmonies of opening track Wide Eyes.

A definite contender for the ever coveted Album Of The Year, Gorilla Manor should be snagged immediately.

Swing on over to their website to place an order (or at least stream the whole album) and make sure to check out the tour dates to see if they're in the neighborhood.

Spotlight Track:

The quintet hit full stride with the beautifully piano-driven Airplanes

Hidden Gems:

Soaring strings and horns segway into crashing drums and awe-inspiring harmonies in the gorgeous "Who Knows Who Cares."

"World News," kicks off as a simple pop tune before getting the Local Natives' trademarked harmonious twist
